Notepad++ is one of the few source code text editors that supports folding. In addition, it features multi-language syntax highlighting, auto-completion, regular expression search/replace, macro recording and playback etc.
Writes settings to: Application folder. It adds an "open" command to HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes in the registry.
How to extract: Download the full version ZIP package and extract to a folder of your choice. Launch notepad++.exe.
Stealth: No
Unicode support: Partial. Able to display Unicode text with proper font selected, but unable to open files with Unicode filenames.
