SMPlayer is a GUI frontend for Mplayer. It is able to play most media files without any dependency on installed codecs. It is also capable of playing DVD discs and Internet media streams. Other interesting features include configurable subtitles, audio and subtitles delay adjustment, video equalizer, playlist support etc.

How to extract: Download the 7-Zip package for V0.5.60 and extract to a folder of your choice. Overwrite with the 7-Zip update package for V0.5.62. Rename smplayer.exe to smplayer_portable.exe and launch. If you plan on using the "Screenshot" feature, create a subfolder called "screenshots". Then select Options, Preferences. Under General, Paths, set "Folder for storing screenshots" to ".\screenshots" and restart.

Path portability: Requires manual entry of relative path (eg. ..\..\personal\work.doc)
Unicode support: Partial. Support display of Unicode characters, but does not support loading of media files with Unicode characters in their names.
